Much Music

Much Music is a Canadian channel that is mostly targeted at teens. One of the most popular shows that airs on Much Music is Much On Demand (MOD) that plays requested music, has special guests, etc.

Before we got to MOD I was pretty excited, and was hoping that there would be a famous person there and we would be able to talk to them, but turns out there was just Jessie the VJ. Most of the time they were either showing music videos or outside talking to the people lined up waiting for wristbands for the MMVA'S. First when we got there we had to line up in a staircase to get wristbands to get into the show, after about a hour we were told to go inside. Seeing what it really looks like instead of what it looks like on TV is totally different. Inside there are people doing blogs and stuff for the show right infront of where they were filming.

The whole experience is mostly what I expected it to be, the only thing that shocked me was that when Jessie was asking people about their fears they had, he asked the whole audience and picked the most intresting one, if he didnt like what someone said he would move right onto the next person. There was a man telling Jessie exactly what to do at all times, like telling him what to say, where to wajlk and where to sit. Also to see how much MOD was constructed was a experience because they knew exactly what they were supposed to talk about and how the show was going to be planned out. From sitting on the set of Much on Demand, it really changes my perspective of a live TV show because they even have the audience being told what to do like how loud to scream, when to clap, and where people sit.

My overall experience on Much on Demand was really fun, I learned a lot about how media is constructed and the whole process in which they go through just to have one live show. It was really interesting to see everything being planned out before the show. I would definitely recommend people to go there and see what it’s all about. I plan on going again really soon!
